The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the University of Freiburg invites applications for a
Full Professorship (W3) for Applied Inorganic Solid State Chemistry (Successor H. Hillebrecht)
in the Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry to be filled as soon as possible.This professorship is particularly suitable for highly qualified early career researchers.
We are looking for an internationally recognised individual with research activities in the field of inorganic solid-state chemistry and with knowledge of the relevant characterisation methods, in particular X-ray diffraction methods. A focus on the field of energy materials is expected.
Possible fields of research in which visible independent contributions are expected include all areas of inorganic solid-state chemistry related to energy materials. In particular, the call focuses on their synthesis, characterisation and application, for example in electrochemical energy systems, photovoltaics or thermoelectrics. A connection to and contributions to existing and new collaborative projects such as livMatS, the Freiburg research centres FMF and FIT and / or the local Fraunhofer Institutes ISE, IWM and IAF are desired.
The professorship is involved in teaching on all Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes offered by the institute in the field of inorganic chemistry and inorganic functional materials with contributions to lectures, seminars and practical courses. The professorship is also responsible for the scientific management of the multiinstitutional X-Ray Facilities for Small Molecules and Materials ().
Prerequisites for the employment of Professors are a university degree, an outstanding dissertation and an excellent publication record. Substantial achievements and experience in academic research and teaching, at the level of a Habilitation according to the German academic system, are expected.
