The professorship is one of five professorships in the newly established degree program “Teaching Special Education with a Focus on Inclusion.” It represents the focus area of learning with an emphasis on basic mathematical education in research and teaching and participates in other modules of the subject of mathematics beyond the degree program. In addition to research activities and relevant publications, the professorship profile requires strong teaching skills and relevant experience in university teaching.
We are looking for a candidate who is nationally recognized in the field of basic mathematical literacy in a current area of research in diagnostics and support, preferably in the context of inclusive learning groups.
In addition to responsibility for the module “Diagnostics and Promotion of Basic Mathematical Competencies in Different Learning Situations,” the professorship – in close cooperation with the professorship for Special Education with a focus on Basic Language Education – is particularly involved in the modules on diagnostics, fundamentals of learning development, and promotion of learning development in inclusive learning groups. The professorship's area of expertise also contributes to the school practice phases of special education and inclusive education, as well as to other modules of the mathematics teacher training program as needed.
Close cooperation with the other four professorships in the new degree program, as well as with the core curriculum in education and social sciences and the diagnostic support workshop at the Institute of Education, is expected, as is participation in cross-phase cooperation in teacher training. In addition to teaching and research, the duties include supporting researchers in qualification phases and participating in academic self-administration.
Requirements:
The employment requirements and performance requirements pursuant to Sections 67 and 68 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (HessHG) apply. A doctoral degree with at least very good grades and a habilitation or habilitation-equivalent achievements in the profile of the professorship are required. Experience in acquiring third-party funding is desirable.
According to § 68 (4) HessHG, only those who can demonstrate three years of school practice after completing their training may be appointed to a position whose job description includes performing school pedagogical, subject-specific didactic, or educational science tasks in teacher training. If you have not worked as a teacher in schools, you must describe how you have engaged with school practice (school-related research projects, supervision of school internships, etc.).
