The Department of Applied Human Sciences has a particularly strong research focus together with an interdisciplinary and practical orientation and offers a broad spectrum of undergraduate Bachelor鈥檚 - and consecutive Master's study programmes.

Your new challenge

You will be responsible for teaching, continuing education and research in the subject area of Psychodiagnostics with a specific application orientation in the introductory and advanced courses delivered by the Department of Applied Human Sciences.
Your teaching duties will predominantly be in the Bachelor鈥檚 and Master鈥檚 programmes in Psychology but, if required, you will also offer courses on other programmes.
Furthermore, you will run the excellently equipped test library as a reference and lending centre for the proper and professional selection, application, evaluation and scientific development and advancement of psychological and diagnostic testing procedures.
We expect you to successfully develop areas of research emphasis in Psychodiagnostics and, if the conditions are met, to participate in our Doctoral Centre for Social, Health and Economic Sciences. To this end, you will find a research-friendly environment here.
It goes without saying that you will be committed to technology and knowledge transfer and cooperation with regional and national stakeholders as well as to contributing to the development of the university.
Moreover, it is important to us that you be involved in academic self-governance (official language German).

What you offer

You are a good fit for us if you are enthusiastic about teaching and research activities and you meet the conditions of appointment as set out in 搂 35 of the Saxony-Anhalt Higher Education Act. For the advertised professorship, these criteria are as follows:

University degree in Psychology or Rehabilitation Psychology.
The evidence of a particular aptitude for scientific work will generally be provided by a high-quality doctorate with a recognisable relevance to psychology.
You will be able to demonstrate pedagogic aptitude and be in a position to convey technical and methodological content in the field of Psychodiagnostics in an understandable and practical manner, either face-to-face, online or via hybrid teaching methods / blended learning scenarios.
You will be able to demonstrate particular achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in the area of Psychodiagnostic practice. Your area of research focus lies in the field of Psychodiagnostics and you have published your research findings in relevant journals.
Experience in the acquisition of third-party funds and the management of research projects as well as international experience are all highly desirable.
You will have accomplished these in professional practice of at least three years鈥� duration outside of the higher education sector.

Furthermore, the following qualifications are expected:

You will have both German and English language skills that enable you to communicate confidently in teaching and research and in everyday life at a German-speaking university.
Your profile will be completed by the ability to communicate confidently, empathy, leadership experience and team skills.

The face-to-face interviews are planned for approximately 3 months after the application deadline. Provided that the relevant requirements are met (assuming, among other things, that the candidate is under the age of 52) the appointee will be granted civil servant status for life, otherwise they will be employed on the basis of an unlimited employment relationship under private law. As we consider face-to-face teaching and the integration of the university in the region to be very important, we assume that in order to meet the requirements of the professorship you will primarily be based in the region.
