University Professorship (W3) 鈥淎I in Biomedical Engineering鈥�

We are looking for someone who can represent the inter颅disciplinary area of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in biomedical engineering through their research, academic edu颅cation, and innovation. Applicants should have a high reputation in one or several of the following fields:

• Research and development of new AI-based health techno颅logies.
• Ubiquitous health techno颅logies, e.g., smart body area networks, wearables, smart implants, and smart mobile devices.
• Intelligent ambient systems for monitoring risk-relevant parameters in everyday life.
• Machine learning methods for the evaluation of multi颅modal vital data.
• Use of AI for prevention, diagnosis, therapy, and rehabi颅litation.
• AI for robotics in biomedical engineering.
• New methodological, technical, and regulatory approaches to the use of AI in digital health techno颅logies.

In teaching, the focus is on actively shaping and further developing both the Bachelor鈥檚 program in 鈥淢edizintechnik und Informationstechnik鈥� and the Master's program in 鈥淏iomedical Engineering鈥�. In addition, active parti颅cipation in existing and new degree programs offered by the KIT Department of Electrical Engineering and Informa颅tion Technology well as in related degree programs of other KIT Depart颅ments is expected.

The selected candidate will execute university tasks with a teaching obligation of 9 hours per week per semester.

The KIT Health Technologies Center (KITHealthTech ()), the HIDSS4Health Graduate School, and the collaboration with Karlsruhe Municipal Hospital offer an attractive environ颅ment for inter颅disciplinary research, as well as application- and practiceoriented innovations for future healthcare.

Applicants should have an inter颅nationally out颅standing scientific reputation, excellent didactic skills, and manage颅ment experience. In addition, work experience in industry or experience gained in colla颅boration with industry, acquisition of third-party funding, and the initiation of startups is desired.

Employment is subject to Art. 14, par. (2) of the KIT Act in conjunction with Art. 47 LHG Baden-W眉rttemberg (Act of Baden-W眉rttemberg on Universities and Colleges).

Apart from fulfilling general civil service require颅ments, candidates should have completed their university studies and possess peda颅gogical aptitude, didactic skills, as well as scientific quali颅fication as evidenced by the quality of their doctorate, habilitation, or equivalent achieve颅ments.
