What you'll be doing here

Management and execution of the BFH subproject in an international, interdisclipinary SNSF founded research project on advanced separation technologies for the valorization of lignocellulosic biomass
Practical laboratory work including modification, commissioning and operation of a steam-pretreatment plant, qualitative and quantitative analysis of solubilized molecules in pretreatment liquors, enzymatic hydrolysis
Dissemination of results at conferences and in peer-reviewed publications
Supervision of Bachelor, Master and PhD students

What you'll bring with you

MSc and PhD in chemical / process engineering or a related disclipine
Profound experience in (steam-)pretreatment of lignocellulosic biomass, enzymatic hydrolysis and related analytical methods
Basic knowledge of lignin chemistry
Enjoyment of hands-on laboratory and mechanical work
Quick comprehension; independent, meticulous and reliable way of working
Good communication skills; team player
Excellent spoken and written English
Enthusiasm for green chemistry and climate change mitigation
