As part of its strategic planning, the University Medical Center ³Òö³Ù³Ù¾±²Ô²µ±ð²Ô (UMG) is pursuing the consistent further development of its profile-forming research focus on molecular cell biology, neurosciences, cardiovascular medicine and oncology with translational approaches including as a partner site of the health research centers German Center for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK), German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) and German Center for Child and Adolescent Health (DZKJ). The UMG is closely networking on the ³Òö³Ù³Ù¾±²Ô²µ±ð²Ô Campus with the natural and life sciences institutions of the university as well as the non-university institutions on site.
The UMG calls for applications for a Medical Informatics – Clinical Decision Support
At the Department of Medical Informatics (Head of Department: Professor Dagmar Krefting), commencing as soon as possible. The position will be initially appointed for three years. If the interim evaluation is successful, the contract will be extended by another three years. The transition to a tenured position (W2) without further application calls will take place following a successful evaluation.
This tenure track position offers a reliable career opportunity with numerous options for cooperation and networking within the faculty and on the ³Òö³Ù³Ù¾±²Ô²µ±ð²Ô campus. After a successful start, the successful candidate will lead a scientific working group within the Department of Medical Informatics.
The candidate should be able to show initial research experience in supporting clinical decision processes with statistical or computer science methods, and should have experience with various clinical decision making situations. The candidate is aware of the new challenges in individualized medicine with regard to rare diseases and long-term developments.
This call addresses early career scientists who completed their PhD with excellence and who are currently developing an independent scientific profile. Experience in teaching and the competitive acquisition of third party funding are desirable, as is an international network.
Further requirements for the appointment as junior professors are laid out in Article 30 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Lower Saxony, current version. The UMG has the right of appointment.
